OUR STORY

1978

THE BEGINNING

Founded by Russ Edwards, Contempora Steel Builders was established to provide metal building services to clients in Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and the Yukon.

1997

LEADERSHIP SHIFT

After several years working alongside Russ, and business partner Bob Gagnon, and growing Contempora Steel Builders into a premier Design Builder, George Constantinides takes over as President.

2003

THE FORD PROJECT

Contempora completes a project for Ford in Thompson, Manitoba. For decades the new facility tests vehicles in cold weather conditions.

2014

SPACE-SAVING EXCELLENCE

Our Skilled Steel Erectors complete a 189,000 square foot clear-span pre-engineered steel building for the University of Winnipeg, working from within the building footprint due to the limited space on-site.

2015

NEW ERA

Bob Gagnon retires from Contempora. Jason Guarino takes his place as Construction Manager and joins the ownership team.

2023

CONTEMPORA: CANADA'S TOP BEHLEN DEALER

Contempora is named Canadas largest Behlen dealer of Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings.

Together, George and Jason pride themselves on the milestones achieved by Contempora Steel Builders and believe that their most important assets lie with their loyal and dedicated staff. The team boasts decades of experience and thrive on the challenge of turning concepts into a finished project. Internally, our sales team works with the design department, estimating, and project managers to offer clients the most effective, practical, and economic designs from project inception.
